Olympus Eye-Trek FMD-700 Video Glasses Olympus - These people know optics!! These are as New and in the Original Box!  I have tested them - and they are amazing! I originally bought them to watch TV in bed without disturbing my wife. My wife divorced me anyway! Now it doesn't matter. These are really cool!! They work great! just like a big screen TV floating in front of your eyes! Sound is great too! The Rundown. The Olympus Eye-Trek is a truly futuristic multimedia display unit that fits like a comfortable pair of sunglasses. Just put them on and all your favorite movies, sports teams, video games and more come to life on an image up to as big as a 52" TV from 6-1/2 feet away. You'll be part of the action in your favorite movie. Hitting the game-winning home run in the playoffs. Or moving at light speed at the push of a button. Just plug it into your DVD player, game console, VCR, TV or whatever, and you're instantly engulfed in beautiful, full-screen images and rich, stereo sound through the built-in headphones. So Many Ways to Enjoy!!   ·   In bed without disturbing your spouse ·   On the airplane ·   In the car ·   Play video games anywhere ·   On the beach ·   Bring to a Ball Game ·   When you go to the Dentist ·   At the gym ·   Waiting on any line ·   At the DMV ·   On the Subway, Train, or Bus ·   Review confidential information with privacy ·   On the boat ·   At the library ·   By the pool ·   In doctor's waiting room ·   Late at night when you don't want to disturb anyone ·   In your dorm room ·   When you want to relax and have some private time ·   Traveling for business ·   In a hotel ·   While on vacation    The secret to Eye-Trek's sharp, detailed image and comfortable, lightweight design is a remarkable free-shaped prism lens. This innovative optical technology is not only four times brighter than traditional concave optics, but also substantially lighter. It's the number one reason Eye-Trek is the leader in face-mounted displays.   But Olympus innovation is hardly limited to our lenses. Once the optics were perfected, we set out to maximize performance of the twin LCDs. By fine-tuning a high-performance optical filter, the normally conspicuous black pixel matrix is nearly eliminated, resulting in a smooth, sharp image.   In addition to the free-shaped prism and high-performance optical filter found on every Eye-Trek, the FMD-700 also includes Optical Super Resolution (OSR) technology. With OSR, each 180,000-pixel LCD generates an image equivalent to 720,000 pixels, with horizontal resolution increased to over 500 lines.   ·   New type of personal display that uses a unique optical system to enlarge video or computer images generated by small LCDs. ·   OSR (Optical Super Resolution) for high-quality on-screen display (equivalent to 720,000 pixels) ·   Can be connected to a variety of video components, including a VCR, Video CD player, LD player, DVD player, video camera, TV and video game system, using audio/video output jacks or a computer equipped with a VGA port and audio port. ·   Compact, lightweight design that is easy to carry. ·   Powerful image equivalent to viewing a 52" screen at 6 1/2 feet. ·   As easy to wear as glasses. The user can adjust the nose pad to fit the display unit in the optimum viewing position. ·   Can be worn over glasses. ·   Can be used with the optional battery pack when there is no power outlet available. ·   The image can be adjusted by selecting “CONTRAST”, “TINT” and “COLOR” in the menu. ·   The sound can also be adjusted by selecting “SURROUND”, “BBE”** and “BASS/TREBLE”. ·   Password protection is provided to prevent unauthorized use of this display unit. ·   OSR (Optical Super Resolution)   *The OSR system optically improves the high resolution by adding a polarized control element and a double refracting plate to the LCD panel. **BBE recreates the feel of the original live sound by changing the waveform back to its original state and adjusting the easily distorted high frequencies.   Main Features:   Achievement of high picture quality and high image resolution (equivalent to 720,000 pixels)   OSR (Optical Super Resolution): Technology which achieves high resolution equivalent to 720,000 pixels and horizontal resolution in excess of 500 lines, by optically producing four pixels from one pixel with the inclusion of special optical device and digital control. It carries out high-speed digital processing of video signals digitally sampled from the original image, displaying it in each optically generated pixel to screen a highly fine image using the specialized video ASIC (a special-purpose integrated circuit) developed by Olympus. High accuracy free-shaped prism: A special prism developed by Olympus that achieves clear images with few distortions as well as being small and light by using "asymmetric optics" and "free curve optics", two cutting edge optical technologies. With a review of lens design plus a further correction of lens aberrations and increased picture accuracy, Olympus has achieved a clear image with no distortion even in the corners of the screen. High performance optical filter: A filter that produces an even smoother feel to the high accuracy image generated by OSR technology. In addition to improvements to existing optical filters, Olympus has carried out fine tunings with a number of optical technologies to make the pixels invisible.   RGB decoder IC: It allows faithful image reproduction and further enhances the feel of visual realism by using a high performance, broad-band video decoder. Achievement of high quality and powerful sound   BBE circuit: A sound treatment circuit that allows all reproduced sound to be as close as possible to natural sound (original tones).   Surround function: Produces more realistic surround sound.   Low and high frequency adjustment function: Allows realism by producing a more powerful sound with the stress on the low frequency range or a sharper sound with the stress on the high frequency range.   Stereo terminal for external headphones: A terminal to allow connection of external headphones has been included for those who are very particular about sound.   Connection to PC   It includes an RGB input terminal on the external monitor board (HD15) that allows connection to a PC. PC image contents can be enjoyed on a big screen.   Large screen equivalent to a 52” TV screen viewed from two meters. It gives the impact of a 52” TV screen viewed from two meters away with the light and easy feel of wearing a pair of sunglasses.   Achievement of a Small, Lightweight 105g   Despite the high picture quality, it is small and lightweight, weighing in at only 105g by using small liquid crystal panels and a free-shaped prism.   Eye-Trek is a personal display that connects to audio-visual equipment such as DVD player, VCR and game console, and gives a viewer a big-screen impact with the light and easy feel of wearing a pair of sunglasses. The FMD-700 duplicates the look of a conventional 52-inch screen viewed from two meters with an unbelievable picture quality, equivalent to 720,000 pixels (four times better than the current model) and is the top of the range model in the Eye-Trek series. High resolution FMDs and HMDs (head-mounted displays) have been restricted to products for industrial use costing several hundred thousand yen. However, with the adoption of its own newly developed technology called "Optical Super Resolution (OSR)", Olympus has given private users a chance to use this FMD, with a high-quality picture equivalent to 720,000 pixels and a horizontal resolution of over 500 lines. True-to-life images of things like skin, hair and fruit can now be enjoyed by anyone. Increased realism has been achieved in sound as well, with the inclusion of a BBE circuit that allows the reproduction of original tones, a surround function and a high and low frequency adjustment function. Further, it can be connected to a PC to allow enjoyment of movies from DVD-ROM drives, PC games, Internet images and etc. With the launch of the game console "PlayStation 2" and the rapid proliferation of DVD players, there has been an expansion in the "home-theater" market. The high picture quality, high sound quality FMD-700 from Olympus suggests the concept of a convenient, full-scale "personal theater" as well as further expanding the FMD market together with the existing models, the FMD-150W (wide-screen display) and the FMD-200    Main Specifications Key functions Viewing angle 30 degrees horizontal, 23 degrees vertical.
